Illegal French Lesson: Mince!
Illegal French Lesson: Mince!
Hey, everyone! It’s been a while since class. Did you have a good holiday?
(“Yes!” thunderous applause)
Today, in light of current events, let’s learn a French word for swearing: mince.
Its literal meaning is “thin.”
But be careful: it is not a compliment about someone’s slim figure!
It is actually a softened version of merde, much like saying “shoot” instead of “shit.”
So next time you want to swear, you can say, “Thin!”
Doesn’t that sound much nicer?
