As everyone knows, a lot of Chinese pop songs are covers of English- and Japanese-language songs.

You have probably heard sayings like “Nakajima Miyuki carried half of ’90s Cantopop.”

People say the other half came from Koji Tamaki, or, even earlier, Shinji Tanimura.

Of course, that is an exaggeration. Some Chinese songs were also adapted from European and American music, including French songs.

There are quite a few such songs, but few people know the originals were in French.
